Swedish Massage

Otherwise known as “classic massage” used to support the long-term health and rehabilitative care of individuals and athletes. Firm but gentle pressure is used with long flowing movements for total relaxation. Increased circulation and relief of muscle tension are results of this massage.

Lava Shell Massage

Lava shell massage (an alternative to hot stones) is a specialty massage where the therapist uses a smooth, heated ceramic clamshell, either as an extension of their own hands or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The relaxing heat of the lava shell helps to warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. The movement is slower and the pressure is deeper to concentrate on areas of tension and pain. Some soreness may occur after the massage.

Reiki Healing

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reflexology is an alternative therapeutic treatment based on the idea that the body has an inner network of reflex points that connect to other organs. The reflex points that are targeted are in the hands, feet, and ears, but are connected to bodily systems and internal organs, from the lymphatic system to the bladder. In reflexology, the pressure is applied to certain sections of the feet, hands or other areas. As a result of the body’s natural reflex zones, the correlating bodily system or organs benefit from the pressure.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tension from the body to ease pain and improve whole-body health and well-being. Pioneered by a professor of biomechanics and an Osteopathic Physician, John E. Upledger developed the technique after years of clinical research and testing. Through the use of soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is a powerful method of preventive health for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and reduce bodily pain and dysfunction.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate. The technique is performed directly on the skin, without the use of oils, creams or machinery. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate a release of the fascia.

Lymphatic Massage

With the use of specialized light touch techniques, this form of therapy is designed to open the lymphatic system, allowing the body to spontaneously detox.
